How do you register mailto protocol in Vista?
Did you set The Bat! globally as stanard app? -
I used old version thebat_pro_5-4-8 - latest version to right register mailto under Vista.
-
But this is a thread about version 7.1.12.
I'll cut off.
-
Yes, and I CANNOT register mailto in 7.1.x, latest version which works on clean install Vista Bussines is 5-4-8.
Common people...
-
Try to reinstall The Bat!.
-
Few times. Only 5.x version works. I check it many times.
-
Try:
1. Uninstall old The Bat!
2. Install 32bit version of new The Bat! -
This is 32 bit system.

OK, extremely strange thing: I change thebat32.exe into thebat.exe and I have mailto!
Update:
I change all thebat.exe into thebat32.exe in registry and it works (propbably) - I will check it closely. -
Older The Bat! versions had thebat.exe as file name, newer since 7.x it is thebat32.exe
-
Yes, I know. So, what is going on? Mailto is registred, but Bat still is not on list to set default programs. It is detail, but strange. All others apps works OK.
-
Strange, but i odnt know what the problem could be.
Unfortunately i dont use Vista. Please ask the Ritlabs Support at http://www.ritlabs.com/en/support/ticket_list.php for some help.
-
I checket it closely: old version register without any problems, new no.
-
I had the same problem with Windows 7, some version of Bat were working ok as Mailto. but not all.
For example there was no way to register Voyager as default Mailto program because it is a portable app.The best way is to use Firefox and there you can customize Options-applications-mailto
any program you wish.I couldn't do that with Chrome for some weird reason
