"xpwelcome" plugin

  • hallo,

    Hello,

A short macro-plugin "xpwelcome" can show the number of unread messages on your
    Windows XP logon screen.

    To use the feature:

    1. Create the "inbox" sorting rule and call it, for example "add_unread". Don't
change any settings on the first tab (let the rule move all messages from
"inbox" to "inbox" - i.e. do nothing). On the tab "actions" assign "export to
file", "overwrite existing", "text file". Assign any fake text file which will
be used (any path accessible to write for you) and enter the template for exporting:

    fake export file %xp_increment("name@domain.ru","c:\Program Files\The Bat!\thebat.exe")

(use your real address instead of "name@domain.ru" and the path to The Bat! as
the second parameter). Also check the box "continue filtering".

    2. Create the "read" sorting rule - exactly as previous, but use the different
macro in template - %xp_decrement instead of %xp_increment.

    3. If you have many mailboxes - repeat steps 1 and 2 for the rest of them.

    The plugin will alterate
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail key using
standard Windows XP API for doing this. If you log out from your windows account
(or use "fast user switching) with some unread messages, you can see the number
of them together with the name of mailbox on logon screen.

The source of the plugin is posted to tbdev list.

The plugin can be downloaded here:

Please note, that the plugin requires Windows XP.

  • edit:
die datei xpwelcome.tbp lässt sich auch nicht über
    optionen/benutzereinstellungen/plugins einbinden -
da kommt immer nur ne fehlermeldung ... (???)
